History:

No. 37 used by drapers from 1780, Youngs drapers 1845-1977. With no. 35, parapet existed in 1865, no mention of rebuild but nos. 37 and 39 plain brick until rendered over in 1900 now brick painted.

Zizzi restaurant

Description:

Two storey brick painted building in two halves.

No. 37 ground floor – divided into three bays by two substantial piers with timber double doors in centre and fixed glazed panels each side to match. First floor two white painted timber sash windows with four large panes each.

No. 39 – ground floor – has single opening with substantial pier on north east corner and six leaf sliding folding timber glazed doors with timber panel below cill level and set back from rear of pavement, protected by wrought iron rail. First floor two white painted timber sash windows with twelve small panes in each.

Roof plain clay tiles hipped at north end RHS and eaves behind parapet forming concrete band above first floor windows to nos. 33 part and 35, moulded cornice projects below parapet to no. 37. Dormer casement window in hipped roof to north.
