History:

A private residence, property of J Claridge, an attorney, in 1800 and in his family until c.1857. Used in C20 by the Ministry of Pensions, the Ministry of Transport, the Womens’ Voluntary Service and the Forestry Commission.

Description:

C18, symmetrical seven window façade of two storeys with five window centre slightly projecting. Ridge tile roof. Recessed wings on either side with hipped tile roof. Large modern dormer in centre. Modern rendered elevation with red brick plinth. Large projecting Edwardian porch in centre with modern double doors. Sash windows throughout main house. Front boundary wall in rendered brick with modern cast iron gates.
